The deluxe queen studio we stayed in was well-appointed with lovely furnishings, kettle plus the bedroom. Location close enough to great hikes, best ocean beach in New Zealand and even Rotorua and beautiful gardens maintained by the owners. Located off the beaten track.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was impeccably clean. The personnel was amicable and amazing. The location was marvellous and stunning, in the Matamata area with easy access to the main shopping center and stores. Again, the hotel was 15 minutes drive from Wairere Falls.

The room we had included central heating, multi-channel television, and a microwave. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with hypo-allergenic pillows. The staff was ready to assist, amicable people. Its location was marvellous and awesome, handy to all Matamata tourist attractions, and in a pretty quiet area.

The hotel was spotlessly clean with affable and attentive staff. Booked a room with lovely views onto gardens. The venue was in a comfortable and ideal location, close to township of Matamata.

Thoroughly enjoyed this hip new hotel, marvellous location and new-fashioned rooms. Location: the venue was just next door to the Matamata shops and a good variety of food options and the hosts' beautiful, tranquil garden and a spectacular waterfall. It was off the beaten track.

Stayed at Walnut Lodge B&B for my trip to Hobbiton. The location is perfect, just a 5-minute drive from town and Hobbiton. Mia and Michael are amazing hosts, and the breakfast tray was packed with delicious goodies. The room was cozy, with a comfortable bed and perfect shower pressure. Everything was spotless and fresh, and the wifi, although not fast, was sufficient for most needs. The accommodation is excellent, private, and in great condition. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful and stunningly beautiful accommodation with unbeatable setting so close to the outskirts of town, Wairere Falls, Tirau, Blue Mountain Walkway, Hobbiton Village, and a rural farm.

Reasonably clean hotel in a lovely building close enough to Wairere Falls, Tirau, Blue Mountain Walkway, Hobbiton Village, great hikes, best ocean beach in New Zealand and even Rotorua, and Auckland. Well decorated and brand-new room with a garden view. Unbeatable location, lovely bed, nice size bathroom.

The gardens surrounding the rooms were absolutely stunning, resembling those found in an English country manor. The rooms themselves were small but cozy, with beautiful furnishings. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast that was delivered to our room the night before, allowing us to enjoy it at our own pace in the morning. With a variety of fresh fruit, bread, yogurt, and other yummy treats, it was more than enough to start our day off right.

While our overall experience was great, there was a minor inconvenience with a squeaky bathroom door. However, this was a small and easily fixable problem that might be resolved soon.

The hotel was fairly clean and wonderful, had pleasant views onto gardens. Favourable and amazing location to all Matamata tourist attractions, met every demand. Plus, it was right by best ocean beach in New Zealand, the outskirts of town, and the hosts' beautiful, tranquil garden.

This charming B&B is nestled in a tranquil countryside setting, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The beautifully decorated rooms are furnished with comfortable beds and luxurious linens, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The friendly hosts go above and beyond to provide impeccable service, and the homemade breakfast, featuring Mia's delicious bread, is a definite highlight. Guests can also enjoy the lovely garden, archery lessons, and the peaceful presence of grazing cows and melodious birds.

It can get a bit chilly at night, so a heater in the room would be a welcome addition.
